When ICLEI was founded 25 years ago, people thought we were crazy to connect cities from around the world in order to jointly tackle climate change and urban sustainability. Now, everyone agrees how important cities are and that their connectivity is key for global improvements. The United Actors may seem far-fetched now, but I am convinced one day the UA will be an integral part of global governance. We look forward to being a part of that journey.

ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability
In today's interdependent world, we have to reinterpret the zero sum mentality. We're either all losers or we all can be winners. The United Actors will help us to move from all loosing to winning together.

United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change
Today’s challenges can not be solved with yesterday’s structures. In the modern world, it is no longer only nations that have a role to play in addressing issues such as climate change, migration, health and pandemics, trade or even war.
The United Actors is a new platform that systematically brings together governments of all levels with business and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs). In innovative and interactive ways, the different actors co-create and jointly implement creative solutions in a voluntary and bottom-up way.
