• When I started my job as climate chief of the United Nations in 2010, very few people believed that a global agreement would ever be possible. I decided to nevertheless pursue that goal with relentless optimism. Six years later, we have in many ways succeeded. In today's interdependent world, we have to reinterpret the zero sum mentality. We're either all losers or we all can be winners. The United Actors will help us to move from all loosing to winning together.
  • During my work as German Ambassador in China, I have realized that not only countries need to cooperate globally, but that societies as a whole have to be part of this process in a very inclusive way. We need dialogue among the different stakeholders – politics, business, culture, civil society - cross-culturally. I fully support the United Actors as a unique new forum providing the opportunity for just such a dialogue and cooperation.
  • As a career diplomat I initially thought the concept was preposterous and crazy. The more I thought about it, the more it made sense. The world is changing and the United Actors is a necessary and positive part of that change.
